Research Interns

We are seeking advanced high school students and university undergraduates to assist with our work as summer interns in our Springfield facility. Applicants should have a strong interest in the theory practice of technology, a wish to acquire basic practical knowledge, the ability to support a team effort under the guidance of an Avetec scientist, and be open to new ideas and diverse situations.

One activity of particular current interest is connected with a Department of Defense Energy Efficiency Research Program, in which Avetec is required to evaluate plans and policy and recommend a plan for future actions. This involves literature and web searches, a survey of current approaches to carbon capture and sequestration, a military base case study and liaison with other organizations as well as the Department of Defense.

We are developing a diverse team with areas of interest ranging between chemistry, plant operations, electrical generation, and national science policy. We are looking for students with basic background in science, engineering or related fields with ability to assimilate scientific data, good verbal and written communications, and a strong desire to contribute in a team environment.
