Purpose of the DICE Evaluation Emblem

The DICE program is proud to offer comprehensive test and evaluation services for Information Technology (IT) and High Performance Computing (HPC) technology and products.  The DICE Evaluation Emblem is used to demonstrate that a product has been thoroughly tested and evaluated in DICE and has undergone robust testing in a real-world test environment. The DICE Evaluation Emblem identifies what product and version was tested, report number, report type and final report date. Solutions are evaluated not just for their effectiveness, but also for verification against stated performance specifications and their impact on data centers.

The DICE Evaluation Emblem services (test and validation) are available to product vendors – from hardware to software - to have an independent, third-party test of their products and/or technology. The DICE Evaluation Emblem can only appear on products and technology that have been fully tested and evaluated in DICE.  Upon completion of the DICE test and evaluation process and final reporting, the DICE Evaluation Emblem logo will be provided to the vendor for use on products, marketing communications and packaging materials under the terms of written agreement with DICE. 

DICE Evaluation Process and Options

The DICE methodology of evaluation has been developed by the DICE team. The methodology has been successfully proven and modified over the last four years with advice from several government agencies and vendors. The methodology has been successfully used for numerous products for government and commercial customers. Once a product passes the complete test and evaluation process in DICE, the DICE team will deliver a final evaluation report to the vendor.  Once fully evaluated, the vendor will then be awarded the DICE Evaluation Emblem indicating the product has undergone rigorous testing and has been processed through required DICE tests. This third-party, independent evaluation adds credibility to showcase and promote products that have undergone the DICE test and evaluation methodology. In addition to receiving the right to use the DICE Evaluation Emblem, the vendor will receive a final report showing the steps and the results of each test and may share this report with their customers at their discretion.

Right to Use DICE Evaluation Emblem

The vendor has the right to use the DICE Evaluation Emblem under the terms of written agreement with DICE throughout the life of the evaluated product. This emblem may be used only on the DICE-evaluated product, marketing communications and packaging materials. During the contract agreement process for DICE test and evaluation services, the vendor will be required to sign an Acceptable Use Agreement on the proper use of the DICE Evaluation Emblem. The vendor will be issued emblems of various sizes. In addition, black and white versions will also be provided and will be restricted to only use of the logos as provided. Re-sizing, changing colors or text is strictly prohibited. The DICE Evaluation Emblem must be used in its entirety which includes the date, report number and other key information and can only be used in reference to the product that was actually tested and evaluated.
