NASA Urban & Rural Community Enrichment Program

NASAThe National Aeronautics and Space Administration offer URCEP as a professional development opportunity for educators teaching grade 5-8.  The program consists of hands-on science, mathematics, geography, and technology activities.  Teachers interact with aerospace specialists, engineers, scientists, technicians, and discuss current space and aeronautical discoveries.  Program will be held at Oklahoma State University.

Air Force Association

AFA GrantThe AFA invites all teachers to take place in various hands-on workshops.  The teachers will be participating in educational lessons that will impact their students and enhance their literacy and learning skills in subjects such as mathematics, science, and English.  It will take place at the Hope Hotel & Conference Center at WPAFB.

Teacher-to-Teacher Initiative

Department of EducationThe Teacher-to-Teacher Initiative offers 14 free workshops for teachers every summer. Teachers and administrators from across the country will share strategies that have proven effective in their own classrooms and schools.

TechFest – Sinclair Community College – February

AFA GrantThe Air Force Association has grants for $250 available for teachers in grades 1-12.  These grants can be utilized for STEM field trips and program development.

Math Moves U Program

This program awards middle and high school math teachers with Math Hero Awards.  Raytheon, a defense and aerospace systems supplier, has launched the Math Moves U Grants and Scholarships Program, a new initiative designed to encourage participation and enthusiasm in math doing and teaching. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a department of Scholarship America.  As part of this effort, Math Move U seeks to reward real-life "Math Heroes" for their dedication to improving math education and their inspiration of participation in math. Teachers may be nominated by students, parents, other teachers, principals or school volunteers for awards and matching grants to their schools or other non-profit organizations dedicated to the improvement of math achievement.

Ohio Space Grant Consortium Minigrant Program

Ohio Space GrantOSGC offers mini grants up to $1,000 to support innovative projects & programs from any discipline demonstrating space related interests. Mini grants support K-12 math, science, or computer projects and are available to all Ohio K-12 teachers. Brochures describing this grant program and application information may be obtained from the OSGC main office or by using the download links below.  The new application process will consist of three deadlines per year. Teachers can apply at any time, but the proposals will not be reviewed until the next nearest deadline.

Proposal deadlines:   October 15, February 15, and June 15.
