College and University Programs

Central State

At CSU, Avetec is currently assisting the College of Education with math and science preparation for pre-service teachers, as well as helping CSU in recruiting Springfield City students to attend their summer institutes. CSU students are also participating in Avetec’s intern program with the Computer Science Corporation program at WPAFB.

Clark State Community College

Avetec has provided assistance to Clark State through a contract with Greentree Group.  CSCC students are participating in Avetec’s internship program with the Computer Science Corporation program at WPAFB. A Clark State faculty member traveled with Avetec staff to the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) Currently, a partnership is being developed to allow CSCC students to be employed as Avetec interns at PNNL in 2008.

Wilberforce University

Avetec has assigned a full-time loaned executive to work with Wilberforce University. Avetec is focused on STEM internships and activities to help Wilberforce students enter engineering and computing fields, and has been recognized by the university as the Employer of the Year. Avetec has also helped initiate a partnership between the Springfield City Schools and Wilberforce. A PNNL partnership that connects CSCC and Wilberforce is being explored. 

Wittenberg University

Avetec and Wittenberg have built a strong relationship focused on their new computation science program and on the College of Education.  Along with the School of Community Education, Avetec is assisting in funding and programming for the Young Women’s Summer Institute. Eighteen middle school girls will spend a day at Avetec this summer participating in hands on science and engineering activities. In addition, Avetec staff members sit on the Wittenberg strategic planning initiative and are active in assisting with Wittenberg’s community involvement planning.
