2008 Wright Scholar Orientation
On Wednesday, April 23, Avetec held an orientation dinner for the 2008 Wright Scholars. Nine Clark County students have been selected to participate in the prestigious Wright Scholar program for 2008 out of 65 total applicants. Each student will work in a paid position this summer at the Air Force Research Laboratory in the Propulsion Directorate at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
TechFest 2008
On February 16-17, Sinclair Community College hosted the 6th annual Miami Valley TechFest which featured hands-on, interactive exhibits and demonstrations about science, technology, engineering and math.
College and Career Day
On Tuesday, January 15, Senior College Day was hosted at North High School in Springfield, Ohio. The event was put on by GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), a federally funded program focused on equipping middle and high school students with the necessary tools to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
Education Leaders Orientation Flight
Forty-two education leaders from Clark County flew in a KC-135. The flight gave them the opportunity to become familiar will the role and missions of the 121st Air Refueling Wing, the Ohio National Guard, and Ohio's Employer Support of Guard and Reserve.
STARBASE Graduations
On November 16th and 19th, nearly two-hundred 5th grade Springfield students graduated from STARBASE, an educational program jointly funded by Avetec and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Snowhill and Kenwood elementary schools are featured in this gallery.
