03/03/08

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (March 3, 2008) – Two local residents have been appointed to fill newly-created seats on the Board of Directors of Avetec, a non-profit research organization in Springfield

William H. Dungey, retired from the U.S. Air Force, and the Air Force Civil Service; and Elise deLanglade Spriggs, Director of Kegler, Brown Hill and Ritter, L.P.A. of Columbus, and former Director of Legislative Affairs for Gov. Bob Taft will serve on Avetec’s Board of Directors, which is primarily responsible for overseeing the financial stability of the organization.

Dungey, of Springfield, retired from the Air Force as a Captain, and joined the Air Force Civil Service, where he received Engineering’s Senior Avionics Engineering Award, the Air Force Organization Excellence Award and the Exemplary Civilian Service Medal. He holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton.

Spriggs, also a Springfield resident, is a graduate of Wittenberg University and Capital University Law School.  She is currently a director for Kegler, Brown, Hill and Ritter of Columbus, and co-chair of the Government and Regulatory Affairs practice area.  She is registered as an Ohio legislative and executive agent for 17 clients.  She served Gov. Bob Taft as Director of Legislative Affairs from 2003 to 2005.  Spriggs currently serves on the boards of Clark Stat Community College and the Springfield Arts Council.

Avetec is currently located at the Kissell Center but is constructing a new state-of-the-art simulation center and headquarters in Nextedge Advanced Research and Technology Park. The company focuses its research in three primary areas: modeling and simulation, particularly of jet turbine engines; data driven computing; and complex systems integration.

"These two new board members have broad and appropriate experience which will be of great value to the organization," said Chairman of the Board John Landess. "We are looking forward to what they will contribute to Avetec's efforts to bring jobs to the Springfield community."
