Wright Scholar Aces ACT
North Student and Former Wright Scholar Scores a Perfect 36 on the ACT
10/11/07
North High School student Benjamin Yu was one of 24 students in Ohio and only 177 in the nation to receive a perfect score of 36 on the ACT. Last summer, Ben participated in the Wright Scholar Research Assistant Program, an internship borne from a partnership between Avetec and the Air Force Research Laboratory. Through the program, Ben and other students had the opportunity to work full-time at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, doing science and engineering research.
“Springfield is fortunate to have a student like Ben Yu,” said Avetec Education Director Cathy Balas. “We are very proud that he has worked with Avetec as a Wright Scholar and gained experience he can use as he goes on to college and his future career. We all need to realize that our community needs to encourage students to excel in education and then to come back to the Springfield area to help us innovate and create a thriving community.”
